When you first glimpse the scenic Green Mountains, our goal at the Deerhill is to take your breath away, and, in the words of Robert Frost, "to change your mood." Relearn what it means to relax. Put your feet up. Wile away the hours in one of our 15 guest rooms, all with private baths and comfortable appointments. Luxurious but not ostentatious. Linger in our fireplaced living rooms or curl up in the library with a good book. But whatever you choose, please don't rush... At sunset enjoy a cordial and conversation on our patio or in the lounge. Make a new friend. Renew an old love. Bring back old memories or create new ones. Then move into the dining rooms - a crackling fire, hand painted murals, candlelight, and views to take your breath away (again!).

And then - dinner. Imaginative Creative American Cuisine executed with flair and enthusiasm by owner Chef Michael Allen. Comfort food. And to make the evening complete, an innovative wine list of superb American wines that's sophisticated, yet easy, unaffected and affordable. Be sure to leave room for our full country breakfast. Eggs, pancakes, or french toast all made to order and accompanied by Michael's delicious breads and fresh squeezed orange juice.

And finally, when you've been adequately prepared and pampered, sample the seasons: in the winter, ski at some of the East's best resorts - Mount Snow and Haystack at your feet. Stratton and Bromley a short drive away. Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling and sleigh rides round out your winter activites. In spring, smell the maple in the air as sugaring starts, watch our gardens grow and our mountains green. In summer, cast for trout on the fabled Battenkill River, golf on championship courses, marvel at the Marlboro Music Festival, ride a bike down a mountain, or just laze by our pool. And in the fall...well, Mother Nature speaks for herself and always dazzles even the most jaded wanderers with her eloquence.
