Drive through the wrought iron gates. The circular drive invites you to the 4-pillared portecochere of Applegate's Georgian colonial estate home. Applegate Inn B&B is set on 6 acres of lush lawns and gardens. Sited amidst mature apple trees and towering pines with glimpses of the Berkshire Hills through the boughs. Breakfast is served in the dining room where candles flicker invitingly from silver candlabras amidst crystal stemware and antique dishware. Quietly private, yet Applegate Inn is in the heart of the Berkshires - minutes from all the activities and attractions the Berkshires are known for.
Applegate in the heart of the Berkshires, was built in the grand era of the 1920's by a New York surgeon for use as a summer estate. It is set on a park-like 6 acre country estate one half mile from the historic town of Lee and about 3 miles from Stockbridge. Once inside the iron gate, the circular drive gives you the first views of Applegate's sweeping manicured lawns and towering trees. The huge fragrant lilac bushes line the driveway and serve to separate the lawns into deliberate garden areas. The rose gardens, perennial beds, fruit orchard and vegetable garden provide interest all year. As you rest in one of the several large hammocks you might get a glimpse of "Gloria's Secret Garden". It invites you to walk in this shade garden or to stop to read on a stone bench. Each season offers you a wonderful view of nature in an estate setting.
The entrance to the Inn is a spacious foyer furnished with plush carpets, a grandfather clock and other fine antiques. To one side of the foyer is the formal living room with several sitting areas, large fireplace and baby grand piano. This is the setting for the popular nightly wine and cheese reception. Adjacent to the living room is the less formal sun parlor divided into TV and games areas. The best views of the golf course across the road are from this room.
There are large bowls of fine candies, fruit and nuts throughout the common rooms. Across the length of the main house is a screened porch with views of the heated swimming pool and the lawns and gardens behind it.

Each distinctive guest room has its own bath; some have fireplaces and over-sized canopy beds.
Each of the guest rooms are centrally air conditioned. During the cooler months, guests will enjoy the cozy fireplaces found in four of the guest rooms. At the same time, in each room, guests can snuggle under a warm feather comforter and experience the tranquility Applegate provides.

| Applegate Inn Bed & Breakfast: Terms and extra information:
Policies - Minimum Stays: On weekends, a 2 night stay is required during the months of June, September, and October. Likewise, a two night weekend stay is required in November through March in rooms with fireplaces. A 3-night stay is required on all weekends during the months of July and August and on all 3-day holiday weekends which fall throughout the year.
Deposits: A one-night deposit is required for one night stays. 50% of the stay is required for stays of 2 of more nights. Deposits are forfeited if guests arrive after and/or depart before the original dates specified on the reservation.
Cancellations & Refunds: Due to our intimate size, cancellations do affect us greatly. Should you find it necessary to cancel your reservation, we must receive notice not less than 14 days (30 days in July & August) prior to the arrival date, in which case your deposit will be refunded less a $25 cancellation charge per room booked. If cancelling within 14 days (30 days in July & August) and we are able to re-rent the room, the same policy applies. If we are unable to rent the room, your deposit will be held as credit toward a stay within 6 months.
In Season rates apply Memorial Day Weekend thru October.
Thursdays and Sundays are considered "weekends" during July and August only. Rates and minimums may vary for holidays and special events.

A 9.7% Room Tax will be added to the room rate.
